James McDonald

Hello and welcome! My name is James McDonald, and I am a senior graduating this May with a BA in communications and digital media and a minor in film.​ My passion for broadcasting began during middle and high school when I anchored the morning announcements. I quickly discovered my love for sharing information and stories, and I knew I wanted to pursue a career in broadcasting. I love the opportunity to tell people's stories with dignity and respect. I believe every person has a unique story to tell, and I am passionate about helping share those stories in a way that brings people together. As I continue pursuing my communications degree, I have developed my writing, producing, and broadcasting skills through anchoring my universities news programming and hosting my own “Jimmy Fallon style” talk show. I was fortunate to interview former Netflix CEO and Co-founder Marc Randolph and YouTuber Mr. Beast which showcase my interviewing skills and ability to relate with anyone I meet. My recent internship at PHL17 in Philadelphia gave me the opportunity to practice my reporting skills in the field, at the anchor desk, and write stories airing each day on the morning broadcast using ENPS. I am eager to continue my growth and contribute to a dynamic and innovative organization. I bring a wealth of skills, energy, and enthusiasm to every project and look forward to taking on new challenges and opportunities to grow.
